my "dreaded" inner rock chick quiz results

Who's your inner rock chick? (Take the quiz
here.)

I just had to know.......so I took the quiz in honor of Melinda who, in the 1980s, was a member of a punk rock group in San Francisco and whose life path has taken her far beyond those days.

Seems that Ani DiFranco springs from my inner rock chick core.

Honest, real, and well liked.
You're not limited by any boundaries.

My husband cringes when I get misty-eyed at the sight of dreadlocks on a free-spirited youth. I think they're beautiful and I always have an "if only" sensation when I see them. It appears that DiFranco no longer wears her hair in dreads (perhaps a result of having a baby) but it's the way I picture her. I admire this feminist icon and I like her music, although I don't own any of it.

Can't resist posting two more shots of her in those marvelous dreads.....

If that's the case, you'd love Boone! haha

Makes me all the more curious about Boone....
Hey, maybe there's no other answer besides Ani DiFranco. We won't know unless someone else takes the test and reports otherwise to us. :)

Lydia, I'm Ani DiFranco, too!

I've admired especially her lyrics for some time!

I checked the test by clicking just random answers - at least they have Pink in it, as well :-)

I heard her at the Vancouver B.C. Folk Festival before she became famous. It was clear to all that this brilliant performer would become a star. Just something about her, the thrill she gives you.

Hattie,
Welcome to my blog and please return to let us know who your inner rock star is! Then return again for no particular reason....... :)

Good lord! I come out Ani di Franco too. Is this thing fixed?
Anyway, I found you through Naomi's blog & really like your style.

Hattie,
Thanks! I visited your blog after reading your first comment and am impressed with the intellectually stimulating content, most definitely...

Good lord, I guess! After reading your second comment I returned to the quiz and, like Francessa above, answered randomly but didn't select my original responses......Ani diFranco again!
So I gave it one more try. This time I specifically planted responses that were far-removed from how I feel and the results to those responses came out as.....Avril Lavigne!

Lydia,

Oh my gosh I love Ani DiFranco! Back in the mid 90's I met a woman college student who I hired to help me with some things. Though we were far apart in our ages we got along so great and we shared a lot about our thoughts and feelings about our selves, the world,etc.. One day she came up to the house and handed me a cd and said "I want you to have this because you will definitely like her and there are some things you say that remind me of her lyrics"..so I played it the next day the whole cd and I thought "wow my new young friend gets me better than people my age do"!..he he..well I'm sure you've guessed by now the cd was one of Ani Difrancos. I was a huge Ani fan from then on!

My favorite song on that cd is the title of the cd "Not a Pretty Girl". I completely relate to it in so many ways..especially now since I've been single the last 10 years dealing with men who have no "clue". But then I also love "32 flavors" and "Asking too much" on this cd also. Ani can be a bit rough but she is soooo "real" and true to herself regardless of what others think.

Ironic I just played "Not a Pretty Girl" last night..it always makes me feel better somehow. "Imagine your a girl just trying to finally come clean, knowing full well they prefer you dirty and smiling".

"God help you if you are an ugly girl of course too pretty is also your doom, because everyone harbors a secret hatred for the prettiest girl in the room...and God help you if you are a phoenix and you dare to rise up from the ash..a thousand eyes will smolder with jealousy while you are just flying past"..that's from her 32 flavors song. Someone else got a hit out of that song..hmmm..

I'm very happy to see a fellow "Ani rocker"...but I guess I should have taken this quiz before I said wrote this comment to you..:o)

Stay true to yourself inner rock star lady..

Blessings and hope your holidays were good..I've been offline for a while had to get my laptop repaired needed a new adapter.

Distracted,
OOohOooooh, Sheryl Crow. I luuuuuuv her music! :)

Lydia said...

Rhi,
I responded moments ago to Distracted's comment then checked my email, and there was your message just in.
What an exciting comment! You know lots more of her music than I do, but I, too, had just listened to "Not a Pretty Girl" at You Tube. I really like the videos of DiFranco in concert and would like to see her someday.
OK, now you'd better come back here to tell us who your inner rock chick is!

What can I say, Lydia? Only that great minds think alike--seems that I am Ani Difranco too!

Honest, real, and well liked.
You're not limited by any boundaries.
"And you can call me crazy
But I think you're as lazy as white paint on the wall"

I think that is a good assessment actually!

Melinda,
You were a real sport to come and take the test at my urging. Really. :)

Lydia--I have always been a good sport--and besides, it was fun! I'd been meaning to stop by but time during the Holidays just slipped by so quickly!

Cheers!

Melinda,
The holidays slipped by quickly but their remains are all over our living room. I'm in the middle of a huge project to pare down my and my mother's ornaments to only what I want to unpack next year. The rest are going into donation and ebay boxes. I'll be so glad when my holidays are REALLY gone and in storage!

Um...I'm Ani too. Maybe this says more about us who gather here, than about the quiz? ;-)
