Interesting question... I never really thought about it, I suppose he would drive this conservative blue, kia saloon.. they're good on petrol, relatively cheap and can seat six at a push (only two trips with the apostles...)(I think!?)
Mind you, I still like to think Jesus would actually drive a VW camper van in phsychedelic paintjob and a hula girl on the dash.. :-)

Well, I'd say probably more likely that than a Hummer...

Gee...I always thought Jesus would walk.....better for his soul, better for his health and better for the environment. ;-D

....but I love it.

Hope your weekend has been beautiful

Funny pic, Lydia!

What else could he drive? Maybe a Nissan Infinity, a Renault Master, a Honda Insight or the Hyundai Genesis?
Who knows?

I don't know what he would drive, (He would probably walk), but I'll bet he wouldn't approve of his name being cheapened on a license plate.

Nothing.

Well, question answered. The license plate says it all.

@the watercats- You cracked me up with your "only two trips with the apostles" comment. This car was parked behind ours Sat. evening when we came out of a local restaurant. Right across the street there was actually parked a 12-passenger van, kinda like the ones you see prisoners being transported in only this one was a private vehicle. We went home to get the camera, but when we returned only the Kia was still there.

@YogaforCynics- Yeah, I'd say Hummer is out of the question.

@Robin- You bring up a good point that Jesus would undoubtedly be concerned about the environment if his time on Earth had been now instead of then.

@Francessa- I really think you outdid yourself with possible car suggestions. Mike and I laughed hard. :)

@Darlene- You said it. Cheapened. What in the world makes some people tick?...I sure don't have the answer (but you know they think that they do).

@Nancy- 何もない. Nichts. Niente. Nada. Rien. 无 (According to Google translate)

@Erin- Alright. Then the next question is: How, of all the car dealerships in all the world, was the Beaverton Kia dealership selected for such an important sale?

@Indigo- Sometimes the only thing to do is chuckle...

Erin Davis said...

I'm sure if you look in the Book of Revelation, there is some kind of hint that when He comes again, he will buy his vehicle a Beaverton Kia. I'm not a Biblical scholar, but I think I've heard of it.

Erin Davis said...

Oh, and it could be that Jesus is attracted to their 10 year/100,000 mile warrantee. He loves a good bargain.

Lydia said...

@Erin- Are you certain that you are not recalling something you read in the Book of Revolutions?
Funny thing here, we also drive a Kia, only ours is demon black, but we were definitely pleased with that warranty.

Hi Lydia

There's a window-salesman round by where i live that has decorated the back of his van with quotes from the bible. I really resent this because he is clearly trying to use his faith to tell people he is reliable (surely profit is not the centre of christianity)

I'm not sure about Jesus, but i hear that Moses came down the mountain in a Triumph (Groan - old joke about an old car. V Sorry)

Hi Lydia,

I really liked this picture. It has symbolical value so many levels. I have only been to the US a couple of times, and I got vivid and very mixed impressions. Scandinavia (were I come from) is liberal to the degree that if I saw this in Sweden I would think that the name on the register plate was an expression of ego by someone named “Jesus” (probably someone with latin American roots). :)

Thanks again for sharing the videos; the ballet pieces were both beautiful and interesting (I haven’t seen this kind of multidimensional ballets before).

my favorite part is how it says, "jesus1." Does that mean plain "jesus" was taken?

@Pixies- Funny old joke, also a new one to me. :)
What you describe happens with businesses around here, too. These folks also put the fish sign in their phone book ads and in ads. It turns me off for the same reasons you mentioned.

@Ande- Fascinating! Although we have a large Hispanic population in this area and I'm certainly aware of the name I'd see it as highly unlikely, extremely unlikely, the scenario you described would be the case here. In many ways my views would have me fitting in more comfortably over there than here (especially during the eight years just behind us).

@RB- ooh, good one. The #1 just drove me crazy but I couldn't come up with a one-liner to express it my disgust. Thank you!

I'm sure Jesus would be fine with this..It's free PR..lol..Beep!Beep!

love the irony. :)

i, however, think he'd drive a massive orange hummer. with a license plate that said #1JESUS. LOL. (i feel like the guy would have a sense of humor

i like the new banner!

Lydia said...

@Tabitha- d'ya think so? Love the beep beep!

@elizabeth- He'd have to have a sense of humor in order to view the TV channels raking in the big bucks in his name. You're probably right about the license plate because Jesus1 is already taken! :)

cathwrynn said...

so..it seems you found him!!!!

(much easier with the licence plate...)

Lydia said...

@cathwrynn- O, you are funny and very clever. :)

Haha.... The banner is coooool! :)

Lydia said...

@Riyadh- Not original, however. There is a movement here based, I believe, on a book that asks "What Would Jesus Do?" -- begun in all sincerity. There are many variations on the original question now.
