The human heart has hidden treasures. In secret kept, in silence sealed and in human feelings revealed... I would add!

Wonderful introspective quote dear friend. I love this picture of you, lost in the view, contemplating life. (Hugs)Indigo

Dear Lydia~ You are absolutely entitled to the privacy of your interior life. However, if there's anything you want to share, you can count on my--and many others' I'm sure--support. Your face is beautiful in profile and repose. xxox

@Phivos- You expanded upon Charlotte Bronte's quote! Really marvelous and something to think about, too.

@Belette- Thank you. I've missed the sound of it every night since I was there. And it was especially "ocean-y" smelling that week due to some strange warm front.

@Indigo- I like the quote too. When I read it I thought I'd love to know what was in Bronte's mind when she penned it.

@Julie- Your blog is a great one and so deserving of Blog of Note. I appreciate your visit. :)

@English Rider- Thank you, and thanks for being here.

@naomi- Yea! A visit from you! This might mean that you are feeling more settled in your new life in Portland. (Batten down the hatches for the next few days...the winds are supposed to be strong.)

@Margaret- Your comments were amazing and meant so much! A lot of food for thought: the interior life, what to keep, what to share - but I do trust my process and the goodness of your heart (and of other blogging friends).

@Tabitha- Thank you. In the past year or so any photo that Michael has taken of me is not just not-good, but really awful. I had one of them as my profile shot just prior to the current one (also a digital self-portrait). I had a scowl because he was telling me where and how to stand. I don't know why I put it on my blog for a few months, as I really hated it!

@Darlene- Wow, why thank you! And I like the quote too, enough to memorize it.

@Valerie- What a great surprise to have a comment here from you! I love the musichouse image and will most definitely contact you about it. Your art is truly unique and special, a "cut above" as they say!
Thank you for your message.
Warmly,
Lydia

Chiming in late. Although I live over Hilo Bay I still miss the Oregon coast.

Love that! The picture matches the words perfectly.

I meant to email you about D Reynolds. He was the vice principal at Galena for at least most of the years my two daughters went there. He knew some friends of mine that went to Wooster. I wonder if we know mutual people?

What an amazing quote. This just went in my list. Again, THANK YOU, Lydia!

@the watercats- Yes, that happens!

@Wayfaring Wanderer- Pretty much. So open, in fact, that I'll admit to relating to the quote.

@Hattie- Wish I knew Hilo so that I too could have a comparison. (Wayfaring Wanderer - above your comment - spent her birthday in Hawaii and has posted lovely photos of the trip at her blog.)

@Nancy- I thought they were a match, too.
We absolutely must email about the synchronicity of certain events in our lives!

@Melinda- It's a great one, and I wonder why I hadn't heard it before...

@Riyadh- I agree about the quote and am glad you like the photo. :)
