Miscellany in Mind Reading

Old Postcard Wednesday is taking a holiday break this week. I am picking up on the vibes that you are okay with that.

I'm sensing that you wish you had ten heartwarming Christmas stories in front of you. YOUR WISH is my command.

You don't have to be a mind-reader to get it that this is going to be quite a winter. These are not designer wear by any means but what we need this year are serious long johns for cold weather.

Do you have reindeer on your mind? I thought so. I found an innovative-sounding company called Reindeer. I sense that most of you will not require the "cross-functional abilities" of the "Nimble Bunch" at Reindeer, but a few of you just might.
Reindeer

Looking at #3 in the advertisement above, I am going to meditate on what's really valuable to me. I am sensing that sounds like something many of you are doing also. Here is a overarching cheat-sheet from Answers.com to ponder:
  • To relate a traditional proverb: Ui mai koe ki ahau he aha te mea nui o te ao, Māku e kī atu he tangata, he tangata, he tangata. This is Maori for "Ask me what is the greatest thing in the world, I will reply: it is people, it is people, it is people."
Other answers:
  • The worlds most valuable item is its ecology. Without humans the world would get along just fine, without the world (or its ecology) humans would not do to well.
  • All esoterics aside; the worlds most expensive, single item, is the International Space Station (a single item); cost $100 billion.
  • According to Socrates, the most valuable thing in the world is wisdom, because without wisdom, one cannot know the true value of anything else.
  • The worlds most expensive substance is antimatter.
  • Pure water . . . the plants need it, the animals need the plants, meat eaters need plants, we need the animals and the plants and the water...
  • Knowledge.
  • Time. You need time to get knowledge and everything else that exists.
  • Happiness and Contentment with life.

Now, I am strongly perceiving that you will enjoy the following video as much as I did. My good friend, Phivos, author of Travelling blog, sent it to me.  Many thanks, Phivos!
And to all of you: I am so thankful for all my blogging friends who have added much joy, insight, peace, beauty, creativity, challenge, and love to this year for me.

How social media, web, and mobile tell the story of the Nativity.

Wow, your skills are amazing, Lydia! ;-)

I love the tiger on your sidebar! There is something about his mouth that looks toy-like. The rest of him, definitekly not a toy!

Fireblossom~ Gee thanks!
Re: the tiger: "Toy-like" mouth - yes, that is true!

kathew~ So glad you enjoyed and are sharing it. You have the distinction of being the first person I have had write to me: "MC and HNY" ...I actually had to think about it there for a second! (MC and HNY to you too!)

Hattie~ I love "happy" instead of "merry" - don't know why. But I do know that I wish you a Happy Christmas too.

Claudia~ Hyper-cool is a great way to describe it; thanks!

fiqro~ I am honored that you are following my blog! Thank you so much for your kind comments. It is fun the things that we share in common. I am anxious to visit your blog, and wish you a Merry Christmas.

I always used to like the running joke on South Park that Jesus had a chat show because it made a kind of warped sense that if he were to come back then of course he would use modern technology.

But your post also puts me in mind of the fact that the Queen now has a Facebook account - but you can't be friends with her: so I'm wondering what status we could have with Jesus if he had a Facebook account - Send Jesus a Children of God request perhaps?

As to the most valuable thing in the world - and going back to your previous post: surely all you need is love?

Tabitha~ Oh, so lovely to see you! Was thinking of you this week when I made an appointment for my first acupuncture.

Pixies~ I think you got it right about what is valuable.
I wouldn't want to be a Facebook friend with the Queen, but I just found out yesterday that my birthday and Kate Middleton's are the same day (not year, obviously)!

I wish the Merriest Christmas to someone I consider a friend. :)

Frosty Duncan~ Your visit and well wishes mean so much. Hope your holidays will be beautiful!

That was a great video. Yes, would that we could all wake up tomorrow having the use of just a few percentage points more of our brains. I'm sure everything would be set in order soon after.

Happy Christmas!

susan~ What a great point you made, and sad that it is not possible.
Happy Christmas to you!
