Mag 113 -- the town blushed

Greetings. How many of you are there?

Halo there!
It is I, alone.

Tell me true, have you been painting the town red?

No. The town blushed, and my clothes became flushed with color as I brushed by.

What of that handsomest of men over there,
the one carrying the naked paper doll?

I bow to him, indeed I do. And why? Because his face blushes, but his hands stay cool to keep the flowers he holds fresh.

What will he do with the bouquet and that pale paper doll?

He has shown the doll to the driver of the carriage so he will recognize the girl when he finds her inside the town. The horses are very strong, very swift, so it will not take long to find her near the gold statue. The driver will whisper to her to jump on board for the journey out of the village where her love awaits.

Then her love will present the flowers to her?

Yes. And he will kiss her lips...it has been long since they were parted.
And what of you, after they are gone what will you do?

I will continue taking my census of sinners.
Tell me what you will now do.

I will come to my senses and get the hell out of here!

Written for The Mag: Mag 113 that inspired with the above photo prompt

decide if I want 'wheeled' in place of carted! Have a great week!

This was delightful! So original and fun. And taking a census of sinners...that's job security. I like the wrap up of the conversation. Thanks!!

izzy~ A mermaid, eh? I don't see it and it is fascinating the impressions we each have with a piece like this one. :) Good week to you, too.

Helen~ Thank you!

rosaria~ Just don't laugh out loud in some fine gallery while thinking about this silly magpie!!!

Yvonne~ Oh, you really cracked me up with that comment about job security! :) Thanks for that.

I'm glad to know I am not the only one to have conversations with art!

I am not sure that I have seen that Chagall before --- much detail and beauty in the colors.
A pretty layout and clever words.

So many poetry writers saw sin in that bright red color. I saw a dance! Clever conversation!

Freda~ And it has been great to learn that I am not alone in that, either!

goatman~ I was not familiar with this Chagall either. It's wonderful.
I appreciated your comment.

Gerry~ Did they? I have not made "the rounds" yet...am SO behind. You are creative in seeing a dance! :)

Heaven~ Thanks! I've done this before with some magpies and I get a kick out of it.

Brian~ Many thanks to you. I would probably try this out on kids if I were a grammar school teacher. :)

zongrik~ Thank you kindly and I have no idea where that census of sinners came from...just bubbled up.
