Friday Flash 55 — Last Call

The tuxedo t-shirt bar crew
yelled Last Call to the crowd
of hot grinding dancers
     and solitary pointstars.

Their club DJ sequed to his final song,
urging them all to find a spark,
a spark to ward off the lonely dark.

With his final notes pairing magic
pulsing in the air DJ sighed:
     “There, there.”

My post written in exactly 55 words for Friday Flash 55. This is the last week that G-Man will serve as our Host here. It has been a great ride, G!

Yeah, it really does feel like the party is over. Wonderful good bye 55.

… I used to reply to all, but your "new" way is really a much bette use of time. I think most end up going this route…

Party's over here, but has been transferred. I'm sure Galen will be making many appearances.

Been a while since I've heard "Last Call!" Ah, yes....when many seek a spark to ward off the lonely dark. Well put. Makes me want to crawl out of my winter cave.

We've all been there- nicely captured - love the "there there"

Lacks the tenderness of "The Party's Over." Rude, jarring shock. The cynical "There, there."

Life's a tale told by a disc jockey?

Blessings and Bear hugs!

It's the last call and the whole group has made this one of the best parties I've ever been a part of. I look forward to seeing how the 55 evolves from here.

This reminds me of "The Ballad Of The Sad Young Men", which Roberta Flack once recorded and I always found poignant.

Sorry to have not visited as often as i would like, lately. Bosco has been sick and is still sick. It's been taking most of my energy that work doesn't take.

You captured the mood perfectly.

Been there. You've somehow uncovered some sadness beneath the rhythms

You've produced some fine work at the G-Man's behest. This is high among them.
