In April last year I took a road trip alone to Reno to see old friends. On my return trip I stayed one night in the city of Mount Shasta, California, a small town at the base of a mystic mountain. This picture shows Mount Shasta the next morning on my way out of town.

I'm missing mountains and crisp mountain air. The smell of sagebrush and juniper. The sound grasshoppers make. Dry grasses attaching to my socks. Special hues of sunrise and of gloaming at high elevations. Winding, narrow roads. Miles of straight asphalt welcoming speed. Vistas and horizons. All of that, just that.

  1. Hey, Lydia.
All indexing means is that when you search for a relevant term, google will eventually display results from your page. in essense, it means you can find your page from google. Its obviously good for increasing readership (what could be bad?) and you can test it by typing in the url of your blog in the google search box. You can do the same test for yahoo, altavista, ask.com, etc.

BTW I do like that guy's photography.

BEGINNING IN 2014 I will reply to only occasional comments here, while appreciating every visit and all comments! My reason is to enable me to utilize that time to read and comment on your blog posts instead! If/when I get more organized I may later return to replying to comments here, but one of my New Years resolutions is to spend more time at your sites: reading, enjoying, learning! Thank you for understanding.

If your blog is associated with a Google+ account, I may not be able to visit you from your namelink. I do not wish to join Google+ and the site sometimes requires that I do so in order to read/comment on posts there.
