a new blog design for writerquake

When I Met My Muse

I glanced at her and took my glasses
off--they were still singing. They buzzed
like a locust on the coffee table and then
ceased. Her voice belled forth, and the
sunlight bent. I felt the ceiling arch, and
knew that nails up there took a new grip
on whatever they touched. "I am your own
way of looking at things," she said. "When
you allow me to live with you, every
glance at the world around you will be
a sort of salvation." And I took her hand.

  2. I love the picture of the dancing Muses. I wish one would light on my shoulder. ;). Well, maybe there are too many to be the Muses, but the picture is wonderful anyhow.

  6. Thanks for promoting Earth Hour! Another way you can recruit people to the cause is by creating a Earth Hour group on Commit21.com. Simply create a group about one action that you will commit to do for Earth Hour and recruit your friends, family, and co-workers to get involved in that action as well. When it comes to climate change, simple actions can make huge differences and Commit21 leverages social media to influence networks of friends, family, and co-workers. Check it out at www.commit21.com

  7. @svasti- Thanks so much! :)

@Distracted- So good, good, good to know! :)

@secret, fragile skies- Thanks much! :)

@Darlene- I liked that one too. I was surprised at the selection of images out there of just the muses (some funny ones with people dressing up like muses)...

@Mibsy- Wow, wow, wow (those are three wows backwards), you are? :)

    @Koe Whitton-Williams- Thanks for your comment. :)

@Adam- Epic in how long after my one-year blogiversary it took me to make the change....
Because you asked, I added a link to the site where I selected the header photo. Also, left a long comment at your blog.

@Acolyte Tao- Thanks much! It does look like a peaceful and creative environment.

@Wandering Alice- Thanks for your comment. ;)

@Nature Concern- It's my pleasure to promote Earth Hour 2009. I was unaware of Commit21 and will look at the website. I also noticed that there's a huge Earth Hour community at Facebook. Congratulations on a great campaign. It will be a meaningful Earth Hour.

  8. I LOVE the new design. I think you've inspired me to try it. If only I wasn't afraid of technology.

  9. @RB- Well, that makes me very happy! Believe me, I understand the angst. I wanted to make the change for my 1st blogiversary in February, but I was steeped in research on templates and headers. I really loved some free templates offered by outside sources, but I became really timid about making that huge jump after reading some of the comments from people who had switched. Not necessarily complaints, but little quirky twists and turns that had to be tweaked to make everything right. I didn't have that kind of poise in me! So I narrowed down to looking for the right header. I played around with lots of different shots. But I kept coming back to this one (link is at end of post). The template I used is here at Blogger and is called "Washed Denim."

BEGINNING IN 2014 I will reply to only occasional comments here, while appreciating every visit and all comments! My reason is to enable me to utilize that time to read and comment on your blog posts instead! If/when I get more organized I may later return to replying to comments here, but one of my New Years resolutions is to spend more time at your sites: reading, enjoying, learning! Thank you for understanding.

If your blog is associated with a Google+ account, I may not be able to visit you from your namelink. I do not wish to join Google+ and the site sometimes requires that I do so in order to read/comment on posts there.
