thought for a new year

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

  7. K~ You had an interesting reaction to Nin's quote, not that she, the author of some volumes of erotica in addition to her famous diaries, would mind your twist on the words!

mythopolis~ One of my favorites. Ages ago, my mother gave me a framed piece with the quote in calligraphy, and pressed flowers on the border.
    The art pleased me too.

Indigo~ Best wishes to you this new year. I would say that this quote is quite representative of your life. xo

Caren~ I've long loved the quote and am happy it visited my brain for New Years! :)

Manuela~ Thank you and may 2011 be the year we look back on as having been pivotal in a change for good...and goodness. :)

Distracted~ Thanks! Happy New Year :)

kj~ You crack me up with your wild TSUP! The quote suits you, btw. xo

  8. Oh, I remember this quote quite well..someone sent it to me long ago and I had an understanding of the meaning quite well (my interpretation of it at least)and reading this now on your post was excellent timing for me to remember the quote once again. I needed to be reminded of it.

Thank you...and may we all have a wonderful more "calm" and a much "LESS" "chaotic crazy angry and mean" type of mentality for the New Year of the Metal Rabbit...which I am, so I hope this New Year will be much more laid back, peaceful, calm and less mean spirited than the last year..which was just over 24 hrs. ago!..:o)

I hope many reach out to one another in love much more this year. Love and Peace in this crazy world of ours.

Happy New Year to you and Yours Lydia,

    Love,

    Rhi

  12. Rhi~ Happy New Year to you, too. I can tell you are sparkling in personal happiness but still so caring of the unhappiness around you. I'm glad the quote is fresh in your mind again now to carry with you in the months ahead. xo

Kim~ Bless you for your kind comment and for your good wishes. I'm hoping for all best things for you this year, you know that!

Roxana~ I looked again for particular information about the media but am not sure. Click here for the artist's profile at imagekind...where you can check out his awesome awesome gallery. This guy's art really speaks to me!

...and Anais Nin's writing never really spoke to me, either! I felt so validated when I read that you weren't a fan. This quote is her pearl, in my estimation, and for the longest time I thought May Sarton was the one who said it!

Happy New Year to wonderful you.
