Friday Flash 55 -- A New Season

Autumn wind by Sabina R.

A New Season

These breezy autumn mornings!
Bodymind sparks to life
as it never did when
we were together.

Then I drifted from our bed
to my bath and back
there to wake you but
we weren’t together

I am awake these fall mornings!
Tore down the new blinds
to see them and I feel
so damned together.

  4. I agree with Brian, the second stanza holds all of the emotion so simply. And the last line--whammo! love the double meaning in it. Wonderful poem, Lydia. Thank you.

  8. A beautiful poem I can relate to. Although I'm trying to keep away the thoughts about the summer passing.

twinkly sparkles~ You are so kind. Thank you.

ds~ Thank you! Your opinion is highly prized. :)

G-Man~ I had a nightmare last night, and I think it may have had something to do with the zombies in your 55! Whoa, that was weird!
Thank you so much for this weekly exercise that is fun and challenging to do. :)

Margaret~ Well, I guess it is hers now. Unless she got rid of it along with the blinds, for a fresh start....
    Thanks for being here.

Eric 'Bubba' Alder~ A for-real Bubba! Never knew one before now. I enjoyed your first visit to my blog and hope you return. :)

Morning~ Thanks so much. The photographer's splendid image was a great prompt.

Doctor FTSE~ Oh, thank you! I value your visits here.

Monkey Man~ "...regained power." Perfect nutshell, I think. Thanks much.

Jinksy~ ...probably because you so frequently write verse that creates them in your readers!

Hattie~ Heck, no! Wish it were so! If you follow the photographer's link you will be delighted by some other self-portraits she has done. I liked her work so much that I then clicked on her flickr albums, where there are many more to enjoy (she is photojournaling her pregnancy in a most beautiful way...).

izzy~ I know, I can breathe again! There is nothing like the freshness of autumn...except the color that accompanies it!
