Friday Flash 55 — Curiosity Personified

Prowling alone,

Exploring the

Red planet, on Martian day

Sol 43 (Sept. 19 on Earth) — I

Observed an impressive rock

Named Jake Matijevic!

It will be the

First rock touched by

Instruments on my

Curious seven-foot long robotic

Arm!  I am an historic rover

Taking pictures of

Immense beauty,

Obeying vast immensity,

Never prowling alone.

Written for Friday Flash 55 - My post in exactly 55 words - for the G-Man.

    1. ha pretty cool....def interesting too to see what it is seeing and to think machines might have a personality is err....well disconcerting but then again we are looking for life on other planets so...smiles....

    2. Curiosity is going to be on Mars for two years. Very interesting. Do we really have a Martian Day?

    3. I felt immediately bad for the rover being alone so far away in such a barren place. (and yes, I know the rover is a machine, but still.) But you turned that around in the end, and I'm glad! Doing a 55 word count AND an acrostic is ambitious! You did great.

    4. Very dry and dusty looking- yet communication streams in! even if it is binary-thanks.

    5. A most exciting time for space-enthusiasts and science fans.

I haven't seen this much wide-spread enthusiasm for a project in many years. (Maybe the Internet is actually useful too, after all? LOL!)

    9. Brian~ I draw the line on dancing like a robot! :)

Margaret~ Yes, it seems we have invented Martian Days as noted in several of the articles I read (see links at bottom).

Fireblossom~ Now I am smiling because of your comment and because you felt for the little guy (he is really little, too, the size of a Mini Cooper).

izzy~ Mars looks beautiful. Binary, not so much!

      Eric~ Absolutely so! Thanks much.

Shakira~ Thank you. We live in an amazing time, right?!

G-Man~ I must say, G, that your comment made my whole day! Why, I was practically weightless!

Rob-bear~ Rated clever by a bear is a good sign.

Amber Lee~ You are such fun! :)

    10. Actually, the way you have this structured, I read 56 words; 55 in the left-to-right plane, and one in the top-to-bottom plane. But perhaps I'm too technical.
      Silly old Bear.

    11. Rob-bear~ I just trust Word Count under Review in Microsoft Word when it comes to my final copy. It says this one is 55. Go take a nap, Bear!
