Mag 148 — Impasse Pass

And when you run low on words?
You stayandstayandstay
wordlessly no-moring
until finally, fueling the tank
with dangling conversations,
you driveanddriveanddrive
until tears become words
upon which you can thrive.

Written for The Mag: Mag 148 that inspired with the above photo prompt (photo by Andy Magee).

Obviously, my usage of "dangling conversations" is humbly based upon
Paul Simon's The Dangling Conversation.

  1. This reminds me of the beat poets I learned poetry from. I love the word chains you have used here. But most of all, I love this because I know exactly what you're talking about. I think any woman would.

  13. When tears become words
    as they sometimes do
    you have gone beyond
    thinking and
    writing.
    Your heart is open,
    and it pours
    your deepest thoughts
    onto the
    page.

  15. Oh well done Lydia - this is an excellent write.

It is sad how some thrive on the pain and degradation of those (they) purport to love/care for.
