The elephant in the room was the ice ship. The house was magnificent in every way except for, well, you know. Even the ice sculpture was perfect, just not inside the perfect room that they had always dreamed about, like a sculpture itself.
"We can work with it," said the Ms. and the Mr. agreed.

Actually this puts me in mind of all those shows where people look to move to the country house and always find something to pick holes in - when i'd quite happily move in tomorrow - or today even if it wasn't already getting on a bit :)

ReplyDeleteStrangely, I see no imperfection — not in the ship; not in the room. But if they chose to, the Ms. and the Mr.could work with it. Obscenely and courageously, perhaps, as did the players in A Midsummer-Night's dream.
