Friday Flash 55 — Wabi-sabi shampoo



Let's shampoo in this sink, I said.

After napping on a gracious bed

(used the comforter as a spread —

left the room wearing not a thread).

We entered a bath where stress was shed.

The space was hewn gray stone, wood red:

Wabi-sabi imperfection purebred.

When shadows nudged light fled —

Then shadows on stillness fed.

    Very evocative, Lydia. the repeated single rhyme is used gracefully and never gets old, and the cadence lulls and comforts, along with the clear and detailed imagery.

    Sexy poem, from the first perfect line that raises the expectations to the last that sets us down easy.

    Usually, poetry gives me stress because I am trying to find the deeper hidden meaning behind everything. It gets to the point where it is not enjoyable because I subconsciously will not allow it to be.
    But THIS was beautiful and spoke right at me!
