Friday Flash 55 — not from my closet


The woman who wears these is
not a woman, but a little girl.
No — not a little girl, but a little
nuts.

She shows off
in her boots and takes cuts
in lines, thinking she is simply
precious.

In a way she’s right, for nuts
like her are precious and few.
And fashion forward too.

    Ugh! Those are obscene. I think we're entering another tasteless age, like the fifties, for future generations to make fun of. Your poem itself is quirky and clever and in much better taste than the shoes.

    I once had a pair of high-heeled white leather sneakers that I painted myself. Kudos if she made these herself but I suspect not.

    the world of women and their relationship to shoes is as far and distant a strange land to men as are the ice banks of titan

    the male equivalent is probably for those of us who work in offices and wear "humorous" ties (IE ones that have smurfs on them, or play christmas carols) to show that underneath the suit there is still a person

    but its designer shoes that get me - a couple of hundred quid just for the pleasure of having a high heel lined with a bit of red carpet??

    Get yourself some cheap £20 shoes and give the difference to charity that's what i say

BEGINNING IN 2014 I will reply to only occasional comments here, while appreciating every visit and all comments!
