新年快樂

tiger pause by Rachel Linder
tiger pause by Rachel Linder

Since it already IS Chinese New Year in Asia I am posting this on Saturday where I am. It is officially the YEAR OF THE TIGER, and I couldn't be more excited since I was born in a Tiger time.

This painting.....oh, how I love it. I will be changing my blog header in the next weeks for my two-year blogiversary and I recently selected six pieces of artwork online that caught my fancy for various reasons as potential new blog headers. This piece, tiger pause, was one of them. I then emailed each of the artists asking his/her permission to use their work, in the event that theirs was my final selection. To date, I have heard from two of them (the artist of this work is not one of them). Amazingly, one of the artists who responded is the artist of the work that I actually was most in love with! What nice people to give permission to have their wondrous creations as possible blog headers!

I will definitely feature in a later post the art of the other person to give her kind permission to use her art as a header in my blog. And I have decided that, even should I receive permission from others, I will change my header to the DAZZLING art of the other who has already responded. I'll write more about him at that time: name, link to his gallery, etc.

Let's see.......it seems like there should be something else of importance to mention in this post....
O, yeah, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, too!

It's the year of the ti-ger, it's the thrill of the fight, rising up to the chal-lenge our ri-val...

Oh, wait a second, that was eye of the tiger...and a really stupid song from the movie that gave us Mr. T, at that.

Ah well, love the artwork.

Yes, year of the tiger starting on Valentines day, along with the new moon also! Very interesting. I did a new post on this very special day (officially now since it's after 12am)about all these special holidays happening on the same day.

Hope you have a lovely "romantic" Valentines Day, Lydia. I'm sure mine will be! First time in many many years I've actually been included with Valetines day! Being taken out to a special lunch and a very romantic and fun night...what can I say?...;O)...it makes me feel happy and a time for new beginnings.

Happy V Day to all!

Love and Angel Blessings,

Rhi

That's a very layered picture! There's a lot of energy in it, and mystery.

And happy Valentine's day to you! I've caught whatever malaise has been going around, which is making me feel bleak today (and interfering with dinner plans. Boo.), but I hope to feel better soon. I'm glad that you are on the mend.

(p.s. -- Thanks to YogaForCynics, I now have the Eye of the Tiger going through my head!)

Hi Lydia, it is great how the internet allows you to connect with the artist. However there is a doing required on your part that allows for this connection.
I can understand your delight when the artist took up this opportunity to expand the exposure of his art.
Everyone wins.
Good on you.

YogaforCynics~ See below that the song was stuck in Jennifer's head after reading your comment. Same goes for me. :)

Maggie May~ Spectacular, isn't it?

Rhi~ I must come see your Valentine's Day/new moon/new year post!
You, my friend, are in the throes of new love. There's nothing like it, and my wish for you is that it only gets better from here! :)

the watercats~ Happy Valentine's Day to my surreal friends. :)

ALeks~ Happy New Year, Tiger baby! Looking forward to a new full year of getting to know you.

Tabitha~ Happy Valentine's Day to you my soulful friend.

Indigo~ Your lovely wishes, so special, are doubled up and sent back to you this Valentine's Day!

Nancy~ I think if you follow the link at the beginning of this post I gave links to additional information on the Chinese horoscope signs.
Happy Valentine's Day to you, and all of Lake Tahoe!

kj~ Love and Happy Valentine wishes to you, dear friend. Thanks for being excited about a new header; I sure am.

Jennifer~ So sorry you have been hit with that malaise. Just mentally wander around in this image and your brain at least should feel more sparkly.
We were not back 100% today, so laid low - made a great brunch together.

Wilma~ Thank you for your interesting perspective on the nuances of sharing art at blogs. You're right; everyone wins!
Thanks for being here and hope your Valentine's Day has been a sweet one.

I love that pic. A friend of mine does similar work, and I have actually bought some of her paintings.
I, too, have caught the latest bug from my visitors from the Mainland. This one does seem to affect my mood.
Well, better times are around the corner. Or so they say.

I'm thinking I must order this print. I love it that much.

May that corner be at the end of a short block! I'm tired of this bug and I'm days behind Michael so I know it's not over yet. Hope you feel better soon.

Happy Chinese New Year, Tiger!!! It's always exciting to be in your cycle.

Lydia: I find that a combo of sudafed pe and mucinex is keeping me functional and feeling OK, even though I am sick.

Works best if taken immediately when one starts feeling unwell.

Lydia said...

Hattie~ Mucinex? I'm not sure what that med is for. I'll look on the shelves at the drugstore, probably not for this go-around because you say it works best early on. I'm better today (still weak, tho') and hope you are on the upswing as well. :)
