    oOoo, my girl Emily! I love how she flaunted poetic conventions. This poem is a marvelous example. Plus, I don't think I had ever read it!

    Love this! Every year a herd would visit the crabapple trees in my yard. A stately scene that lasted the colder months. Sad to say with the recent upheaval of the woods beside my property they have yet to arrive this year. I miss them so. (Hugs)Indigo

    Fireblossom~ I had not read it prior to finding it last night. I must say that I have more of a feeling for this poem than an understanding of it. Must have something to do with those poetic conventions she was toying with. :)

    Pixies~ I did not know that! We have been lied to about the gender of those Reindeer, and I was a sucker for it most of my life. :)

    Indigo~ Lovely to see you. So sad to read about the disruption around your woods. I hope the deer somehow adjust and return to your crabapple trees this winter. We are just inside the city limits and there has been subdividing in the areas around us. The deer have been very disrupted. We have deer who now come to our yard and eat from various shrubs and flowers, and love one low-hanging birdfeeder. I also bought a salt lick for horses at the local farm store for them....don't know if they use it or not.

    Mr Lonely~ I enjoy surprise visits and yours was a delight. Will check out your blog.

    Amber Lee~ I do too. Just love them. So, it sounds like winter has really hit your area. We are having a short run of partly sunny days and I have no complaints.
