rambling on, as go her
conversations, directing some
questions to her husband—
and in between all that,
mentioned they had thought
of planning sea scatterings
(just as my mother had
arranged) but, instead, bought
two cemetery plots in Portland
and was I going to have some
pumpkin pie for dessert?

Sounds like my father-in-law in his dementia decline. Just listening is a gift...

just thought i would slip that in there over pie...ha...a couple years ago on thanksgiving all of T's family decided to pull me aside one at a time and discuss funeral arrangements...being the pastor in the bunch is not always the easiest thing...ha...i'll admit, that they all decided to do it the same day was awqward

Fireblossom~ It is nice when people decide to plan and then advise family members of their plans. But it is a difficult topic so probably is interjected in ways like this more than one would think. :)
I don't think this was dementia, but rather the scattered ways table conversations go ..... drives some folks crazy, but others don't mind having to pay attention to hear the whole story! I like this alot!
