Friday Flash 55 — the interview

A strong steady fire
is what I hope for.

Too long the pre-heating
and energy is wasted.

Team of chefs
well-steeped in your craft
tossing me into the stew:
Please pierce my brain from the first
to dispel steam,
to allow even cooking.

Please discard the worn-out recipe.
Pick me to serve a higher purpose.

A decades-old poem reworked in exactly 55 words for Friday Flash 55.

  4. The event may have been ghastly, but your writing is superb! You truly deserve much more than a worn-out recipe! It will take something new and enchanting to direct your energy.

    Blessings and Bear hugs!

  5. They do say that when it comes to interviews throwing a dart at a board is as likely to get you the correct candidate - but being interviewed can certainly feel like being grilled, fricasseed and boiled for several hours :)

  6. Before I saw the photo, read the crisp text. An extended haiku it seemed. Brought thoughts of many times of being "decided upon" professionally and personally--and moving on.

BEGINNING IN 2014 I will reply to only occasional comments here, while appreciating every visit and all comments! My reason is to enable me to utilize that time to read and comment on your blog posts instead! If/when I get more organized I may later return to replying to comments here, but one of my New Years resolutions is to spend more time at your sites: reading, enjoying, learning! Thank you for understanding.

If your blog is associated with a Google+ account, I may not be able to visit you from your namelink. I do not wish to join Google+ and the site sometimes requires that I do so in order to read/comment on posts there.
