Friday Flash 55 -- 龙年

Jiao-long tattoed for weeks and was now frail. He would die soon.

Jiao-long promised Pu that the reward for her patience and bravery was the finest of dragons to be with her always: "Remember my taking you from behind, my hands caressing your shoulders, my soft whispers into your ear. It will be like that."

新年快樂

tiger pause by Rachel Linder
tiger pause by Rachel Linder

Since it already IS Chinese New Year in Asia I am posting this on Saturday where I am. It is officially the YEAR OF THE TIGER, and I couldn't be more excited since I was born in a Tiger time.

This painting.....oh, how I love it. I will be changing my blog header in the next weeks for my two-year blogiversary and I recently selected six pieces of artwork online that caught my fancy for various reasons as potential new blog headers. This piece, tiger pause, was one of them. I then emailed each of the artists asking his/her permission to use their work, in the event that theirs was my final selection. To date, I have heard from two of them (the artist of this work is not one of them). Amazingly, one of the artists who responded is the artist of the work that I actually was most in love with! What nice people to give permission to have their wondrous creations as possible blog headers!

I will definitely feature in a later post the art of the other person to give her kind permission to use her art as a header in my blog. And I have decided that, even should I receive permission from others, I will change my header to the DAZZLING art of the other who has already responded. I'll write more about him at that time: name, link to his gallery, etc.

Let's see.......it seems like there should be something else of importance to mention in this post....
O, yeah, HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY, too!
