On account of my missing the regular publication of Old Postcard Wednesday this week due to the flu that is a hard one to knock, I thought I would share this image with you because I did so on my Facebook wall last night and it has been a big hit with friends there.
Over the weekend my husband was working outside and he rushed into the house, telling me to grab my camera and urging me to look out in the back yard. I really didn't want to move from my cozy spot, but when someone's eyes are shining as his were, well.......
It was worth it to put my comforter aside to capture this scene. It is the gazebo bird feeder under our giant Sequoias, that contains on most days sunflower seeds, cracked corn, and peanuts -- but, on the day this was taken, also contained a neighbor's young female cat.
Since the male cat, formerly owned by the same people who own the one in this picture, has in the last months totally adopted us, and since I do not choose to "adopt" any more strays, I really think I will share a copy of the photo with them!
