Time Enough by Sandhi Schimmel Gold
Who knows not a song sung by Judy Collins may be too young to worry about where the time goes, may not know that her suite nickname was Judy Blue Eyes, that her only son ended his time early, or that her voice remains timeless.
It doesn't; he didn't; it wasn't; they aren't.*
Who knows?

Nice. I remember being high up in an airplane and thinking, "Oh wow! I've looked at clouds from both sides now; from in and out, and still, somehow its clouds illusions I recall....I really don't know clouds at all."
i really like the picture...very cool....and intriguing the things we dont know about people...
That song was a bit whiny for me, but I like some others-
Time can't make up its mind - rush or stand still, thanks.
One of my favorite singers. Many years since I heard that song, thanks.
Beautiful video...I love Sandy Denny and Judy Collins, yup, I'm old enough. :)
It's good that some of us still remember. And that is a truly beautiful song.
As long as, when we remember, we can deal with our fears.
Complex but intriguing post. Thanks.
Ah, distinctly I remember, not the song, but the times, which were a-changing. When I was in University. Here in Canada, my home and native land.
That is a beautiful, haunting song, by an amazing singer, and person.
Remembering: as long as when we do it, we can still deal with the pain — of then, and now. Because, in many ways, things have not changed.
A lovely and thoughtful post.
I'm not into Folk Music
But I'm really into your 55
Most excellent job My Friend.
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
mythopolis~ Strange, but I never thought about those lyrics as seeing clouds from the ground and then from above them. I always thought of the meaning in the terms of looking at clouds (dark times) in both a positive and negative way.
Brian~ That is intriguing!
izzy~ Interesting to think of time as having a mind. :)
hedgewitch~ My pleasure. She really is gifted.
brenda w~ Agree, agree, same here!
Rob-bear~ Thank you. In many ways things have not changed, true. In some key ways things have changed a lot. Actually, I give us all kudos for having coped well with both--for the most part. The beauty in life keeps us going, I think, and that includes beautiful songs like this one.
G-Man~ A-ha! You are old enough to know you are not into folk music!
Thank you for hosting another interesting week and enjoy your weekend. :)
What an interesting tale...and yes, I do remember her, even if I was just a kid. ;)
Have a good weekend!
I have been a fan of that song for quite a long time. I have it on a Judy cd with the one about the whale fishing too. Freaking beautiful haunting tunes!!
here is my 55.
Not a singer I am aware of - will sort that out. Thank you.
hope~ Sure love your name. Thanks for being here, and enjoy your weekend, too.
Jannie Funster~ Ah! Someone else with amazing blue eyes! Nice to meet another fan of the song and to meet you.
Freda~ You are so much fun, the way you wrote "will sort that out." I love it!
perhaps time goes to the same place as ballpoint pens
That might explain why you can never find time, nor a pen, when you need it?
Pixies~ Your comment reminded me of a truly hilarious post at your blog awhile ago...that pen scenario in your office. I have not forgotten the hassles you described!
