Today I glanced into the bedroom and saw that she was not there so I stopped what I was doing in order to make the bed before she had a chance to settle back down there later.
I saw something dark on the sheet that looked like a cat toy but not one that I recognized so I was confused and moved toward it somewhat cautiously, which is altogether silly. I just wasn't sure what it was.
Then I got closer and.....Awwwww!
I swear this kitty just melts my heart.
I love Willow so much!

Aaaaw indeed ... then they have that delicious purr aswell just to melt us completely :o)
I'm laughing at the line "soundest sleep of the day" - I'm not sure how to measure our old girls "soundest sleep" she looks pretty well zonked out all day!
That kitty has a cushy situation!!
I just inherited an old cat. Yes, indeed, she loves comfort.
Oh I love it! What a cute situation. Rumi will snuggle down under covers with us some time and it just melts my heart every time.
That's adorable!

I swear every cat has its own unique personality. That little paw hanging out is just too cute!
Dogs have owners, cats have staff.
Are you well paid in your employment by the cat? Apparently so, considering the awe inherent in the pictures.
If I had a cat, the last place it would be is in my bed.
Deborah~ You got that right! :) ^.^
jane~ How is it that they can sleep most of the day? Dogs too! If people were like that we would never have progressed beyond caves and loincloths! ^.^
mythopolis~ That is the truth. ^.^
rosaria~ Lucky kitty to have you. Our oldest "came" to us from the neighborhood 12 years ago and she was not young then. But...Willow is only three! She is such a lazybones. ^.^
Amber Lee~ Isn't it the coziest thing when they do that?!
I think Willow must be more cold-blooded than she should. It is not cold yet. At her next checkup I will discuss with her vet. ^.^
Alyssa~ I think so too! ^.^
Stickup~ Yes, each is different, each precious. Willow is more a baby than any cat I can remember. ^.^
Rob-bear~ ..considering the awe inherent in the pictures. What a way to say it! See, she pays me well by bringing joy to my days. And, Bear, where would a cat of yours be found (if you had a cat, which, apparently you do not, and perhaps that is best that Bear not have a cat.)
rosaria~ I visited your blog after having a comment from you and did so to just catch up there. What shocking news awaited me, the news behind the reason for you having just inherited an old cat. I spent over an hour reading all the way back to when you lost your son in July, and watched the memorial video.
I left some comments there but wanted to say here that I have added your blog to my blogroll for the sheer beauty of your remarkable way of sharing your life.
My deepest sympathy and heartfelt friendship. xo
A cat of mine would not be found.
A cat would not be welcome in the Bear's den.
Pooh, Bear!
Ohhhhh I just ADORE THIS! I am so happy you told me about this post! The series of photos is just too adorable!!Who can resist a kitty paw?
Plus I just LOVE the name "Willow" this is truly a gem!
Caren and Cody~ You made my day with your comments. Such joy you spread around from your blog!
I love the name Willow too, and it just fits her perfectly because her fur looks like pussy willows. ^.^
"Dogs have owners cats have staff" - brilliant. Your cat has such trust to burrow under the covers like that. Gorgeous
Freda~ That is a brilliant quote that Bear shared.
Trust? Why, Willow acts as if she set the moon and the stars! She has never known anything but love and safety. ^.^
Awwww...
bfk~ Nothing like a precious pet under the covers...
Ah, we have a cat named Willow. I have had cats my whole life and this is the greatest cat I have ever known in my own home. I suppose everyone needs a Willow.
twinkly sparkles~ I have a blogging friend in the UK with a cat named Willow, and there was one in the news recently who was discovered walking the streets of New York, luckily formerly radiochipped, that belonged to people in another state (I forget which).
I have had cats all my life, also, with two former cats each occupying my heart fully while they were with me. I did not expect another great feline love, which is what Willow is for me, so I feel so blessed. I am so happy for you to have the same feeling for your Willow.
