OPW--a GIFcard

GIF via ARG!

I apologize if you arrived looking for Old Postcard Wednesday. The weekly old postcard is missing this week because I am extremely behind in reading posts at other blogs. So instead of researching, I am going to make the rounds to as many of your blogs as possible. If I don't make it to your blog please forgive and know that it was my hope to do so!

This decision has been very freeing......why, I am practically giddy and not at all like Wednesday's Child:

Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child is full of woe,
Thursday's child has far to go,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for its living,
But the child that's born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

I thought I was born on a Wednesday, but discovered my birthday was on Tuesday instead while looking for this poem. Check out the Ultimate Day of the Week Calculator to determine your birth day.

See you next week for OPW (I wouldn't think of taking two weeks off in a row).

I'm a Saturdays child - you wouldn't want to be a Wednesdays child. Tuesday sounds much more romantic.

Fun! Monday- mine says-
enjoy your visits!

Thursday for me! And the poem is oddly astute - I do always feel like I have far to go.

For a Bear to be "fair of face" seems a bit strange. But that's what the poem says. Which raises questions.

I think I'll just keep watching for OPW, and not worry about other dates.

Happy reading!

I was born on a sunny Sunday in May, and I am indeed gay! Ha!

Your visiting blogs? How many before you get to me? More than 20? Hahaha., you know I'm kidding. :-)

I won't say I always like your visits to my blog. I'll just jump up and down in wild abandon when you come

I am so bad, Lydia. I use guilt to get my way.

It doesn't always work.... (are you coming?)
:-)

I can't believe I let spellcheck say your instead of you're. I meant you're. Actually I would like everyone to use your and you're correctly
:-) again

the moving eyes of the man at the computer are amusing.

i was a sunday child - but someone else must have got my bonnyness and gayness - and i'm not sure about the blithe. I did have it, but i think it got left in my jeans pockets and subsequently ruined in the wash :)

jane~ Hi Ms Saturday! No, you wouldn't want to be a Wednesday's child, which is why it was nice to discover that I am not!

izzy~ Hi Ms Monday! Would you believe that I still have not read anyone's blogs and it is nearly Friday morning? My concentration (and good intentions) seems to be scattered all over the place. But I'm trying....

Amber Lee~ I do think you may have far to go, and you will have much to teach along the way.

Rob-bear~ A bear is very fair of face in my estimation. Fair and fine face, indeed, has a bear!

Fireblossom~ Your comment was simply delightful. Made me smile.

kj~ Yes, dear, I am coming....but much belatedly. It is Friday morning and I am just getting settled down when I find that it is also bedtime. I'll read a few now and then hit it again tomorrow. And on what day were you born?

Pixies~ My husband is also a Sunday Child and he will be most appreciative of your comment. I thank you in advance for him!

Ooops, it turns out I'm a Thursday child. Now why should that surprise me?

Never worry about visiting so long as you're happy doing what you do.

susan~ It is not a surprise at all, really as you have traveled far and have shared much. I'm just glad that our paths crossed the way they did.

And thank you for the kind reprieve about visiting. I have not been around to nearly as many blogs as I want. Lots going on at the home front right now to distract me. I may just have to call this episode somewhat a "wash" and start anew from this point, both in writing at my blog and visiting others..... sigh.

Now I'm not working at a regular job I often feel guilty for not posting and visiting more often than I did previously but there are other things that swallow time, aren't there? There's no sense at all in making new treadmills for ourselves.

I'm also very glad we met on that lovely sunny day. Somehow I knew we'd develop a friendship - even if it were to be a distant one.

susan~ 'zactly right about other things swallowing time! I often wonder if I would be more organized if I had a job. Since I was not blogging when I worked I have no means for comparison. (This does not mean that I shall suddenly be seeking employment as a test of my theory, however.)
Re: your last paragraph....so beautifully said it made me feel just wonderful about our friendship. :)
