Friday Flash 55 — outcast as angel

A Morning In Tilden 2 by Michelle Sixta
A Morning In Tilden 2 by
Michelle Sixta

The outcast as angel. That is how she saw herself. While working at forgiving herself
she had long since forgiven those who shunned her. She was angelic in that way and
in the way her downcast eyes sought the lowly, interceding long enough to buy them
time, enveloping them in layers of light while crying.

Written for Friday Flash 55 - My post in exactly 55 words - for the G-Man.

this is rather beautiful...and has a kinda mother thersa feel to it...to buy them time and wrap them in the light...that is a high calling...smiles.

...I, too, thought of Mother Theresa and her compassion for the "lowest of the low", gathering up the dying literally off the curb of the street and giving them dignity and love.

This is to aspire to-! Sometimes forgiveness transform us and others; and sometimes all we can do is walk on...probably the difference between humans and real angels.

This reminded me of another angelic tale sung (and played) by the late, great Michael Hedges, "Spring Buds"

Love and Compassion are the key to life. We all need to learn to give without expectation of something in return. So many don't.
This is such a beautiful poem. It has such a powerful yet very tender message in so few words.
We are usually always the last person to realise we have yet to forgive ourselves and yet, we need to.
She is a beautiful soul.

I like that whole forgive yourself idea. I think the one thing we need forgive ourselves for more than anything else is carrying baggage we let other people put on us.

Very cleverly done and beautifully written.

That's a jewel, Lydia.

Olivia~ I think many parents hang guilt on their kids instead of helping them forgive themselves. That is sad to me.

Daydreamertoo~ You, also, are a beautiful soul, as evidenced by your words here. Thank you.

the walking man~ Yes, that carried baggage pulls us down in the dumps. What a horrible thing, and so important to shed.

Mama Zen~ Thank you!

susan~ I so appreciate your appreciation. :)

mythopolis~ Ah, thanks. The painting was so beautiful, I thought. Fun to stare at it and find a story there.

I developed such an interesting image of this woman. Someone full of compassion and love, not just for others, but for herself. She recognizes her own role as angel. I love it. Thank you for brightening my day!
