Friday Flash 55 — inainte de Mara

inainte de Mara (Before Mara) by Sorin Onisor

This picture tells of many things: of walking in beauty and being of light, of sweet air speckled with gold, of simple living and depth of thought, of harvest halos preceding her hellos to the child. The rainbow that dropped from the sky now clings to their cottage. The time of waiting is nearly over.

Written for Friday Flash 55 - My post in exactly 55 words - for the G-Man.

Mr Tumnus was half fawn half man, from "The Lion, the Witch and the wardrobe" I believe. As to his eye sight I cannot say- but I like your tale here Lydia! Thank you for your optimism!

A beautiful sense of waiting for harvest, of renewal and struggle undertaken in hope.

What a beautiful image and your description of it. I love the rainbow that clings to the cottaqe and the waiting harvest, the culmination of a summer's work. I had to laugh at the comment on her furry legs. Too funny!

It's like an entire sub-text revealed within the photo. Nice work.

"The rainbow that dropped from the sky" is a lovely idea. ( Is she waiting for some event that's gone unnoticed?)

Brian~ Thank you so much for your comment, including taking Pixies off the hook!

izzy~ My pleasure....and thanks for clarifying who that dude was!

ReBelle~ Peaceful....thanks, that is how the image made me feel too.

hedgewitch~ Ah, such beautiful words, hedge. Thanks.

Yvonne~ Many thanks. I laughed too but just don't see what they are seeing!

Eric~ It is? Why thank you!

Mama Zen~ I appreciate that.

Roxana~ I was so hoping you would see this post, and wondered if you possibly know the photographer. He is a facebook friend, via another fb friend, and his work shows Romania with such love.
Many thanks for your beautiful comment.

dmarks~ Pollen is indeed tricky. I like the photographer's work so much, too.

Doctor FTSE~ Thank you, kind sir. Please note that the lovely lady is "with child" (or if you prefer another phrase, check out G-Man's below :)

G-Man~ Hah! You just cracked me up with this comment. Thanks, master.

A lovely, serene little piece. I wonder what's making the rainbow.

Friday
in a flash.
Of lightning?
She waits,
and wanders,
and wonders.

And since
she is wonderfully dressed
no "flash" from her
this Friday.

I think it's time she washed that dress.

Lydia said...

Cad~ Hello, and thanks!

Lucy~ Now you have me wondering that too!

Rob-bear~ I think she is dressed wonderfully, too. Thanks for your poem of understanding.

bfk~ I do think it is a pattern, silly. You guys sure weren't seeing what I saw in this.

I loved the soothing words and then the reference to "Tumnus" (I've been involoved with the stage play Lion, Witch.. etc, for six years) ha ha and then Mr. G's comment. But back to your beautiful words ... She does look happy, all golden and beautifully glowing.
