Friday Flash 55 — Rx for living

Bloom where you're planted, so they say.
Appreciate you’re not here to stay.
Honor your roots, till your field of dreams.
Kick up some dust, let off steam -
Trust that land goes fallow and deserts bloom.
Once, twice, thrice be a groom.
Splash where shallow, dive where deep.
Life is not yours to keep.

Written for Friday Flash 55 - My post in exactly 55 words - for the G-Man.

You don't have to tell me twice...
Let's PARTY!!!
Welcome back from vacation Lydia.
The place just didn't seem the same without you.
Loved your philosophical 55
Thanks for playing, thanks for your support, and have a Kick Ass Week-End

Great advice!

Brian~ It is admirable the way you have made the best out of living in a place that you do not necessarily relate to. A self-help book on this topic would probably be a best seller!

A Cuban in London~ Your name/title is certainly intriguing! Really appreciated your visit and comment.

G-Man~ So you like to party? hahahaha, everyone knows that! You are so kind to welcome me back after my hiatus. Missed 55s.

rosaria~ I take that as a compliment coming from you. Thank you.

Sounds like wisdom to pass down through the ages.

firstly on a tangent Field Of Dreams is that most rare of things - a good Kevin Costner movie.

i like this poem a lot - it, and the image, have a Springsteen feel to it and the image made me think of so many things including the JRR Tolkien quote that you have to be careful when you step onto a road, because you never know where it might lead

I think this is great, but actually you could have done it in even fewer words...I think a new category might be worth pursuing . Under 55..."Jesus wept." may be the best line in the bible. love ya, dan

Vanessa~ Thank you. :)

Pixies~ I so agree with you about that being a good Costner movie; I loved that movie.
Wow, a Springsteen feel? Cool!
Thanks for introducing me to the Tolkien quote, too.

Mythopolis~ Your idea is fun(ny). How about a one-word category: "Why?" :)

Yoyo~ I am glad. Thanks for stopping by!

Fireblossom~ Made clearer every day! As for the pic, it is reallyreally hard to take a bad photo at the Oregon coast. :)

Life, not ours to keep?
Oh, but we think it is!
Then we discover
we get too soon old
and too late smart.

Awesome first line, and a great message. It is much easier to bloom when at the coast, though :)

Rob-bear~ Too soon old and too late smart....now that's the truth, Bear! Happy to see you.

Margaret~ First line is a quote, but I do not know the origin. I've always loved it. Totally agree with you about blooming at the coast!
