Enough Already! by Anji Johnston
My expression says, Ho-hum,
this year is now over. —
But my insides are all jumpy
(same thing’s true for Rover).
Loud noises make us grumpy
and scare us out of our wits.
So, be your pets' heroes
wearing cool New Year outfits:
Please close all the windows —
feed us soothing treats...Oh yum!
My post in exactly 55 words written for Friday Flash 55.

Last year, my next door neighbor scared the bejeezus out of both of us when he shot off a 4th of July style rocket at midnight. I thought a power line had fallen on the house.
It is always good to remember to be kind to one's pets at holiday times. My dogs enjoy all of the extra activity and a few extra treats. Smiles.
I love this! Adorable.
Another year.
Another Christmas.
A few presents.
Family visiting
for a couple of days.
More than enough
to eat.
Time to read
and visit friends
around the
world.
I think of this
as being
a wonderful
Christmas.
oh yum is right! Lucy will get extra treats for sure- and we are far enough away from other houses that no noises will interrupt our sleep! Happy New Year!
ps I stole your photo to use on my blog today!
a cautionary 55, and well-thought ~
Very good, compassionate advice. Happy New Year to you!
It looks like Tabby found the Catnip...Far Out!!
You are such Quirky Lady Lydia.
You always make me smile, and I'm so proud that you find the time to participate in the Friday Fun.
Loved your Party Cat 55
Thank You for your wonderful support, and have a Kick Ass New Year
Great advice for pet owners in a classy 55.
Happy new Year, Lydia.
Fab. One recommended change for rhythm:
'And scare us FROM our wits'
Read both versions outloud; you'll see :-)
I wish in 2014 I stop wanting to participate in flash 55 and instead do .
Assuming G-man doesn't mind...
Happy new year, Lydia. I love you
kj
giles is currently out but we will have to get him in early as people round here start letting off fireworks during the day and want to make sure he's ok
Hi Lydia!
Loved this little poem of yours--it's true and perfect and sweet. No fireworks here on New Year's, very quiet.
Thanks for your comment. I think I needed to hear that my post made sense as I tend to not follow the dots when I write.
I've been overtaken by some physical problems this year so I haven't been blogging as much, but I know I will return to it.
It's great to know you are still writing and active.
Happy New Year! XO, Katherine
