Friday Flash 55 — Pet Thoughts at New Years

Enough Already! by Anji Johnston

My expression says, Ho-hum,

this year is now over
. —

But my insides are all jumpy

(same thing’s true for Rover).

Loud noises make us grumpy

and scare us out of our wits.

So, be your pets' heroes

wearing cool New Year outfits:

Please close all the windows —

feed us soothing treats...Oh yum!

My post in exactly 55 words written for Friday Flash 55.

  1. Last year, my next door neighbor scared the bejeezus out of both of us when he shot off a 4th of July style rocket at midnight. I thought a power line had fallen on the house.

  2. It is always good to remember to be kind to one's pets at holiday times. My dogs enjoy all of the extra activity and a few extra treats. Smiles.

  3. Another year.
    Another Christmas.
    A few presents.
    Family visiting
    for a couple of days.
    More than enough
    to eat.
    Time to read
    and visit friends
    around the
    world.

    I think of this
    as being
    a wonderful
    Christmas.

  4. oh yum is right! Lucy will get extra treats for sure- and we are far enough away from other houses that no noises will interrupt our sleep! Happy New Year!

  9. Fab. One recommended change for rhythm:

'And scare us FROM our wits'

Read both versions outloud; you'll see :-)

I wish in 2014 I stop wanting to participate in flash 55 and instead do .
    Assuming G-man doesn't mind...

Happy new year, Lydia. I love you

  11. Hi Lydia!

Loved this little poem of yours--it's true and perfect and sweet. No fireworks here on New Year's, very quiet.

Thanks for your comment. I think I needed to hear that my post made sense as I tend to not follow the dots when I write.
I've been overtaken by some physical problems this year so I haven't been blogging as much, but I know I will return to it.

It's great to know you are still writing and active.

    Happy New Year! XO, Katherine

BEGINNING IN 2014 I will reply to only occasional comments here, while appreciating every visit and all comments! My reason is to enable me to utilize that time to read and comment on your blog posts instead! If/when I get more organized I may later return to replying to comments here, but one of my New Years resolutions is to spend more time at your sites: reading, enjoying, learning! Thank you for understanding.

If your blog is associated with a Google+ account, I may not be able to visit you from your namelink. I do not wish to join Google+ and the site sometimes requires that I do so in order to read/comment on posts there.
