A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new; when an age ends; and when the soul of a nation long suppressed finds utterance.

Yes, can you imagine 75,000 people there that day? I'll always regret not being there, but Mike supported Hillary and we compromised by not attending rallies for either one. :(
I'm no public speaker either, not one little bit!

I was delighted to hear the news. I'm concerned that the arrogance Hillary displayed will not stand her in good stead. She lacked grace and dignity throughout the campaign and I sincerely hope she does not become VP. I hope Amercians are prepared to accept the fact that change it will be a long time coming. The situations created by the last administration cannot be wiped out overnight. Obviously, the highest military budget ever at the same time the highest number of Americans are living in poverty is nothing to be proud of.

I wish you a great rest of the week as I probably won't have enough time off to come back and read until the weekend.

Lydia, it's so interesting. I have noticed the number of comments on people's blogs who are from the USA on the whole election ... and your posting is one of the first that really just seemed to express how people's *hearts* are involved in this election -- that it's more than just politics. I haven't commented on anyone's blogs about this election at all - being Canadian, I just didn't think I had enough information to say anything informed, but I wanted to tell you what I saw in your posting ...

timethief,
"The situations created by the last administration cannot be wiped out overnight." -- You are so right; we'll all need to remind one another to have patience and not judge too harshly, while still remaining vigilant. The whole VP scenario is going to be absolutely fascinating. I wondered if Hillary might volley for Sec. of State, which would upset me because I'm pulling for Joe Biden in that position.

little bird,
I love him too. Will this be your first presidential election to vote, or did you just get in for the one four years ago? I remember my first: I voted inside the University of Nevada gym for George McGovern.

Honour,
I am thrilled with your comment, especially since I'm aware that you are an involved citizen in Canada. I'll do my best to help ensure that your neighbors get it right this time!
