I visited The Chosen Blog for results of a survey on the preferred spelling of the holiday that begins today: is it Hanukkah or Chanukah? Of the 104 people who took the now-closed survey, Chanukah was preferred 62% against Hanukkah at 37%. Good to know! I'm glad I stumbled upon this interesting blog because it is chock-full of terrific posts about Chanukah.
Yesterday before the latest snow and ice storm hit Mike and I shopped for groceries and ate at a local restaurant, where we ran into some friends who invited us to their house Sunday evening for a first night of Chanukah get-together. We were, however, completely iced in from early morning on so couldn't join them.......all the more reason I am appreciative of The Chosen Blog for Chanukah fun and instruction.
The video in my post is a darling one that Mike and I found last holiday season as a result of our having posted a video at You Tube of our standard poodle, Bonbon, dancing with me on Christmas day. I'm glad to have my blog this holiday season so I can share it with you. This little girl and her standard poodle are perhaps the most charming dance partners I've ever seen. I love this video!

Thanks for referring me to this charming video and to the very interesting "Chosen" blog. And a Happy Chanukah to you and your family.
That is too funny!
I had no idea that was the preferred spelling of Chanukah... learn something new every day :)
I think we all are celebrating the same astronomical event "the winter solstice" we just call it different names like we do with God,
I think that should bring us together rather than separate us - Look at the religious intolerance going on around the world!
Happy Chanukha and a happy winter solstice!
This video made my day...I thought at first that was a bear:>)
Mort,
I'm so glad you enjoyed both! Thank you for your fine greeting.
WW,
Cute, huh? I guess there are lots of dogs that like to dance, but I think Standard Poodles LOVE it!
Little Bird,
T'was news to me, most definitely. :)
Buddha,
Yes. :) Happy happy everything and peace in the new year.
Distracted,
I know! It looks like a bear first take. 5 Stars for that dog *****
Have a wonderful christmas.
Hi Lydia,
I want to see the one with you dancing your poodle. Come on, give us the link.
It's almost the night before Christmas. I hope you and Mike are having a lovely holiday.
Hugs,
Sharry
Yolanda,
I wish the same for you. :)
Sharry,
I'll have to split that video off of the site where we have all our videos at You Tube, then I'll get the link (if I remember!).
Mike has stayed two nights last week and two this week in Salem just to be sure to be at work. We did get chains on but he's responsible for the works with all others off for the holidays. He's coming home Christmas Eve; yea! It's been a different kind of holiday this year, but very sweet in its own way.
I wish you and Sam and your family happy holidays and GOOD HEALTH in 2009.
