i heart brandi carlile

She certainly is one of my favorites, and I love this song.

(Have a great weekend, everyone.
)

Brandi Carlile performing 'The Story'

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true... I was made for you

I climbed across the mountain tops
Swam all across the ocean blue
I crossed all the lines and I broke all the rules
But baby I broke them all for you
Oh because even when I was flat broke
You made me feel like a million bucks
You do and I was made for you

You see the smile that's on my mouth
It's hiding the words that don't come out
And all of my friends who think that I'm blessed
They don't know my head is a mess
No, they don't know who I really am
And they don't know what I've been through like you do
And I was made for you.

All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true... I was made for you

Ohh yea it's true... That I was made for you

It takes a long time to grow young.

Beautiful song and lyrics! I'd heard her name before, but never got to know her songs. Thank you!

@Francessa- When Brandi plays Vienna, I'm coming and we're going to the concert! (Wouldn't it be great if it could work out that easily?) Check out those twins she has playing on either side of her; how unique is that? Other videos show them better than this video. There's one of just the three of them doing an acoustic set in Portland, OR, that's a good one. :)

Great idea! Unfortunately, she doesn't play Vienna, at least at present. But she tours with "A Fine Frenzy! I like this.

Impressive voice. I didn't know her. Words of love. I like the "don't mean anything when you've got no one to tell them to" part. Thanks.

Well, it's no "Battle of New Orleans" that's been running around my head all weekend thanks to a certain co-worker singing it at work, but this Brandi Carlile should do okay:>)
No, really, one of my girls' favorites. Thanks for the words. What the heck was I singing??

I'm impressed with her talent. I also love the lyrics..thank you for posting them.

I hope one day to meet my "second" soulmate who will accept me just as I am and not only that will love me for who I am.

This song means a lot to me..it's kind of where I "hope" to come from one day soon..

Thanks Lydia,

Blessings,

Rhi

@Francessa- O, you must have done what I have not, and that is to look at the tour schedule. How cool is it that she tours with AFF, that you introduced me to on my birthday post this year! :)

@Carlos- I read that she studied the stylings of American country singer Patsy Cline who lived and died decades before Brandi came around. It shows her depth, I think.

@DMarks- Thanks for stopping by. Have a good week ahead.

@Distracted- Curses upon you for putting "The Battle of New Orleans" into my head! Here's payback: "NORTH TO ALASKA"...... :)

@Rhi- I'm glad you like this song so much too. Brandi is unique in that she appeals to a cross-section of age groups. I hope she wouldn't mind that....somehow I can't imagine it would do anything but please her.
I hope you meet your second soulmate too, Rhi, and sooner than later. :)
