For those not quite ready to put away that holiday lighting yet .......

Portugal is a high hill with a white watch tower on it flying signal flags. It is apparently inhabited by one man who lives in a long row of yellow houses with red roofs, and populated by sheep who do grand acts of balancing on the side of the hill. ~Richard H. Davis

New Zealand is a country of thirty thousand million sheep, three million of whom think they are human.  ~Barry Humphries

Just because you want to be glamorous, don't be a sheep about your eye makeup. ~Loretta Young

The conception of two people living together for twenty-five years without having a cross word suggests a lack of spirit only to be admired in sheep.  ~Alan Patrick Herbert

The herd instinct among forecasters makes sheep look like independent thinkers. ~Edgar R. Fiedler

The shepherd always tries to persuade the sheep that their interests and his own are the same. ~Henri B. Stendhal

The seaman tells stories of winds, the ploughman of bulls; the soldier details his wounds, the shepherd his sheep.  ~Laurence J. Peter

The metaphor of the king as the shepherd of his people goes back to ancient Egypt. Perhaps the use of this particular convention is due to the fact that, being stupid, affectionate, gregarious, and easily stampeded, the societies formed by sheep are most like human ones. ~Northrop Frye

In order to be an immaculate member of a flock of sheep, one must above all be a sheep oneself.  ~Albert Einstein

That's such a cool video - but mostly I'm just amazed at the talents of the dogs! Cool, very cool.

This is amazing but the sheep should have gotten credit too.
Merry Christmas!

I've been reading a bio of Jimmy Stewart. Apparently Loretta Young was like many a young actress today. Let's just say she had a lot of boyfriends.
It's funny to think of the stars of our youth as being like the stars of today.

Wow, I thought that Baa-vinci was the greatest until I saw Sheep Pong. Lydia, where do you find this stuff??? Amazing!

Wow -- this is quite a video, followed up by some great quotes. I think my favorite is from Alan Patrick Herbert.

For you, the video "Sheep" from the 80s British bands the Housemartins: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIWOhisqrP8

I hope you had a happy Christmas!

@YogaforCynics- I hope you slept well and did not have nightmares about the video. That would have been just puctanl.

@Kirby- Aren't those dogs amazing? My mom had a border collie and I thought about her when I saw the video (although she never herded sheep).

@Erika- Agreed. I wonder if any of them are actual pets...probably not, probably are all just members of the herd.

@Ageless North Shore- Thank you for your visit here! I was a kid when the Loretta Young show was on TV (black-and-white, of course). All I remember is that she seemed to float into a room at the opening, and I wondered if she was a queen. From what you say her life was as common as many!

@earthtoholly- How did I find these "Baah-Studs" you wonder? I'm sure it was on a blog in late summer/early fall, and I stuck it in my drafts. {If the blogger who posted it back then comes by please be sure to take credit for bringing it to my attention!}

@Jennifer- I am anxious to see where the link will take me, since other links you've provided to me have always never disappointed!
My Christmas was nice, and yours too, I hope!
