Friday Flash 55 — new Obama campaign canvasser

Contemplating by Paul Johnson

This volunteer was waiting outside Obama headquarters on Thursday morning, an early bird. Although the crew was dazed from the debate, and the guy had done something artsy to his appearance, he still seemed familiar. "Hello, boys and girls." he said. "Put brochures right here on my PBS clipboard. I will work dawn to dusk."

the critics here are saying that Obama faired less well than his rival in the first TV debate and seemed to lack energy - personally i think we put too much hope and expectation into these things. No person, no matter how good they are, is gonna come along and solve all the problems of the world in 5-10 years

But i had to laugh when Obama blamed the previous administration - glad to see that blaming the previous owner is a universal thing then.

No doubt the Grebulons of Alpha Ceti 6 are even now complaining that the current state of Smurg Juice is as a result of actions ten years ago by the Uberlords of Snork

well, you get the point anyway

eh its the first debate...i think you have to break down and fact check a bit...most will hear romney say no new taxes, but miss the part about adjusting the deductions which will mean a tax increase on the lower income families....but...

These debates are like soap opera but do they really matter in the voting time...Nice 55 spin ~

I like your picture prompt and I love your politic take on 55! We just had our budget out and now all lower and middle income group pay lower tax while a lot of people from the lower income group no longer has to pay tax. We have free health care for all or heavily subsidized by the government. There are of course those who choose to go to private hospital.

I just hope that America will recovery faster so that my family and I can come back home to America soonest.

Thank you, Lydia for linking up. You did fine, I just needed to link up your post for you but thank you for doing so...it helps a lot as I can trace you!

Mine is here
Have you a ROCKING AND BLESSED WEEKEND!!!

That picture feels gruesome and bloody-
your words tell an uncertain tale about a possible traitor ? Dunno, I hate politics cause they lie. Thanks for playing though!

Pixies~ To paraphrase one of your sentences: No person, no matter how good they are, is gonna always be on top of his/her game. Obama was not on top of his game in the first debate, but I bet the next two will be an altogether different story. To me, he looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Oh wait......he does!

Brian~ Yikes, in no way did I mean for this 55 to be a slam on Obama. Big Bird is one of the 47% and he knows it and he's out there working for Obama. Just as I will be doing. <:

Heaven~ Well, it seems they affect peoples' opinions leading up to voting time. Which is a bit of a problem since many states are already voting early. In Oregon we vote by mail and as soon as our ballots arrive I'll be marking mine and taking it directly to City Hall (too precious for the mail).

Shakira~ Interesting news about S. Korea. One of my nephews lives there with his Korean wife and their plans have been to retire in Thailand. I wonder if these changes will affect their plans....

izzy~ Well, that was not what I had in mind. No, I thought that Big Bird had to resort going door-to-door because it is that important that Romney be defeated. Not sure why he changed his appearance....maybe so he would be neutral to Independent voters?

Other Mary~ Yup, Big Bird is the Man!

Rob-bear~ Indeed!

G-Man~ Thanks much, G. Obama's poor showing?....unfortunate but not fatal to the campaign. The press used to marvel at Clinton's capacity to "compartmentalize" -- and I think that Obama may not have been able to do that. Something big was on his mind that distracted him (and I don't mean his 20th anniversary).

Alice Audrey~ That is true. Thank you for being here anyway. :)

Melissa~ Thanks for the well wishes for the weekend. It is not shaping up to be a stress-free weekend, so your good thoughts are much appreciated!

Mama Zen~ You got that right!

Anonymous~ I know who you are and what you are doing and I'll see you tonight at Evita. :)

Fireblossom~ Hah! Although Romney said he "loves Big Bird" your comment is probably much closer to his true feelings. :)

I'm late, but congratulations on your anniversary, girl. It's a big deal and I'm so proud of you!

Fireblossom~ Bless your heart, you are not late. Mine is Oct. 15. Maybe one of these years, since ours are so close I will just get on a plane for a day trip in between our two anniversaries. We could have lunch and say "Good Girl" to one another. ♥
