Fever by Tara Lemana
The week was long we worked hard soft
kisses might have helped time go faster but
many made it to Friday with
brief hugs
fist bumps
caffeine
will power down all that now
the weekend is here hear a calling
from deep inside your needy soul saying
get every last drop from the golden weekend.
Written for Friday Flash 55 - My post in exactly 55 words - for the G-Man.

It has been a tough emotional 2 weeks for me- so I really appreciate the relief I sense here !
woot...will be nice...and i actually have a light weekend of grad school work as well...will be nice...
Weekends are all that make some weeks endurable--love your word choices here Lydia, and the way the poem feels compressed and rushes fast to the end--sort of like a weekend, unfortunately. ;_)
Whew...
I thought you were gonna say...
Every last drop from a golden Shower....:-)
Loved your Week-End Warrior 55
I'm GEEKED now!
Thanks for playing, and have a Kick Ass Week-End
Here! Here! The weekend is made to enjoy every moment!
Amen! Beautiful pic too!
Ahah! A very zesty Friday 55. I hope your golden weekend lasts as long as you require.
Fireblossom~ Cheers!
Rob-bear~ Thank you for your poetic thoughts. Willow the cat is in total agreement about that snuggle time. ^.^
izzy~ I am so sorry to hear that it's been rough lately for you. You are one of the most positive and serene people I've met via blogging, and I hope life returns to normal for you sooner than soon.
Brian~ Okay, now, this is the first I've been aware of your being in Grad school. I don't know how you do it all, really I do not!
hedgewitch~ Oh, I am so tempted to change the structure of the poem after reading your comment, giving the words "every" "last" "drop" each its own line to slow down the weekend a bit. I'll keep it as is with this rewrite in mind. Thank you.
G-Man~ And how exactly are you GEEKED now? Enjoy a great weekend in your geeked condition!
razzamadazzle~ It sure is, and you have the perfect name for a weekend, too!
Other Mary~ I loved the pic. Was surprised to read the photographer's description as telling the droplet of water is on a dried leaf, as I thought it was a twist of twine or rope. Amazing shot.
susan~ My weekend got off to a great start by seeing your latest drawing and reading the magical story. Thank you for that.
perfect description of the work week. Whew. Enjoy your Sunday!
