Oh, I loved you, baby, in that
hot August rain — you native
in my city of exile — you son
of its crumbling, smelly alleys,
and rich cathedrals of sadness.
I was your wet lover —
splashing by the cafe awning —
waiting for you to meet me
with your red umbrella.
Oh, you loved me, baby, in that
hot August rain — you creative
neon light artist — the one
witness to my resident dreams
and to my expatriate madness.
You came bringing me cover —
dashing in the brightening night —
a gift in your other hand,
my own red umbrella.

I enjoyed this tremendously, passion, silliness, nostalgia and a pair of lovers with red umbrellas; an excellent response to the prompt.
Seems like it will be a pretty soggy rendezvous! Nice write.
Love this! Found it exquisite! Had to share it on facebook because I found it so exquisite.
Wow I like this ! A great take- Thanks.
This writing conjures up such rich images and feelings, and the photo compliments these well!!
nice...like this much...great textures to the description and the passion as well...the seperate umbrella is almost a bit sad at the end, instead of sharing one...nice mag....
A stunning post. It's been ages since I got to see a red umbrella in real life. Such a thing is so beautiful!
For me? This sizzled!
This is a nice piece. :-)
I enjoyed this tremendously.

Olga~ Lucky you to have actually seen a red umbrella in life! I would like to have one. Here in Oregon it is rather strange the way we do not use umbrellas in the rain. You see the kids walking to school in pouring rain, often without coats. It is a sign of hardiness...or insanity!
i find this sensual, lydia. evocative and sensual, right up my alley. you write very well. i so enjoy your poetry. they are stories, snippets.

The hidden romance of a rainy day... opposites attracting to the glimmers of sunshine.
Oh, Yes! Yes, indeed! So beautiful. Exactement!
I do hope there was a red dress, and red shoes, to go with that red umbrella.
Reflections~ Thank you for your poetic comment. :)
Rob-bear~ Your comments pleased me, yes they did! Now that you mention it, I do think there was a red dress and red shoes in the scene. It almost seems real when you complete the attire. :)
